Auto-rickshaw owner, Shankara (played by actor KR Pete Shivaraj), was very content with his life until one night when he mistakenly noticed a dog named Gunda, took a dramatic turn. Over time the relationship between Shankara and Gunda is rising, so much so that the dog is an important part of his life. Their relationship is now becoming famous in the town. Yet little did he know the lost dog was Gunda.
The plot twist emerges as the owner of the dog arrives searching for his cat. Shankara is devastated over this. In the meantime, Shankara 's aunt, Kavi (played by Samyukta Hornad), wants the dog out of their lives as well.
Naanu Mathu Gunda catches the Shankara and Gunda relationship. And the credit goes to the director for trying out a subject that touches on the relationship between humans and animals. But the introduction is a tad longer. It should have been streamlined to keep you glued to the screen for about 15 minutes.
The story isn't going beyond Shankara and Gunda, either. Shivaraj deserves credit for his praiseworthy performance on his first as a hero outing. Your dream weekend watch could be the film, which delves into a very different subject. Even if you're a fan of cats, you 'd be leaving teary eyes.
