The foreshadowing and hints were clever, scattered all over the season.
It gave us prominent characters-like Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi), Trivedi (Chittaranjan Tripathy), JoJo (Surveen Chawla)-but withheld crucial information about them, inviting us to connect the dots.
Season 2 picks up and helps to tie some loose ends. It opens in 1994 when Gaitonde has locked up on a boat off Mumbai in a sea away. The other side includes Sartaj, who has 25 days to break the mystery-one that will wipe out Mumbai if it is not solved. Season 2, under the direction of Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan, differs markedly from its prequel.
In season two, Gaitonde's story continues with flashbacks, which again affects things in the present for Sartaj.
