The star is continuing to rise from strength to strength, supporting the hype surrounding him. His sincere and effortless presence adds depth to this film, which otherwise lacks the tangible tension you would expect from a war drama.
What makes it entertaining then is not its execution, but the daringness of the project that it creatively decodes and recreates. Despite realizing the outcome, you watch the events unfold as the intricate action strategy is graded with childlike suspense.
