Set in Bareilly's North Indian city, this romcom breaks the handcuffs of Bollywood 's ongoing heavy reliance on cardboard cuts and instead introduces you to real people whose charms are pathogenic.The writers Nitesh Tiwari (director and author of the much-acclaimed Dangal blockbuster)and Shreyas Jain have put together a delightful crowd-pleaser that thrives in the departments of writing, direction, acting, and music. As far as performances go — clear scene-stealer is Rajkummar Rao. He is irresistible, whether he is the blushing sari salesman or the Gali ka Gunda.
Kriti Sanon makes up for a lovely Bitti and Beti both, while Ayushmann goes from white to black so swiftly that you'll remain with him. Also, Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Pahwa are in fine fettle and you're lured to ask for an intermission.

Returning to the Bitti, she is the only daughter of the owner of a sweet shop (Pankaj) and his traditional wife (Seema). Her father raises her up like a son, even allowing her the occasional swig and puff. Her usual small-town Ma, who only wants to see her daughter married, is in sharp contrast.
On a journey by train, Bitti unintentionally ends up devouring a novel called Bareilly Ki Barfi, and here comes a twist in the story. Not only does she connect with the book's main character, she even pursues the author actively. She begins to spend a lot of time with Chirag, they also become besties, and he agreed to help her find her Pritam-Pyaare.
The voice-over of Javed Akhtar introducing the characters and situations is toasty, again thanks to the hilarious punches. Like the money-spinner Tanu Weds Manu and his sequel, this movie also keeps you investing in its moments of rain and shine.
